He co-produced Donald Wrye's acclaimed 16 hour miniseries AMERIKA, and produced the award winning series CHINA BEACH.

He then studied at The American Film Institute (AFI), where he obtained an MFA in film directing.

His short film ALYCE IN WONDERLAND was a finalist at The Houston Film Festival.

John produced the Humanitas Prize winning LUCKY DAY, starring Olympia Dukakis, and directed 12 episodes of the PBS series HEALTHQUEST.

He served as jury head for the prestigious International Documentary Association (IDA) Awards, and his company was the first to be given unrestricted access for filming at the United Nations in Geneva.
